Part of Young Foundations and based in the beautiful rural countryside of North Wales, Oaklea Grange is a small SEMH children's residential school for children and young people aged 11 to 18 with a range of acute and enduring mental health issues and associated challenging and complex needs, including mental health issues and associated learning needs. Located on the same site, Oaklea Grange Residential Home can accommodate a maximum of 8 young people in the home and independency coach house, and 8 young people in the school. The school itself will educate the pupils from the residential home on site only. All pupils will have additional learning needs in such at their individual needs cannot be met in a mainstream educational provision and thus need further support in providing a supporting and inclusive education.Oaklea Grange School's vision is to champion and embed a mentally healthy school through its ethos, culture, trauma informed teaching practice and curriculum. This is an exciting time to join and develop as part of an education team who champion the lives of our pupils and genuinely make a difference to their quality of life and future prospects.About The RoleReporting to the Head of Education, you will have teaching experience within several subject areas and a desire to work with children and young people in a nurturing, creative and supportive way.You should be highly motivated and have a genuine interest in developing the education that young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours receive.You should have experience in achieving high quality teaching, collaborative working with fellow staff and learners as to maximise achievement, secure qualifications tailored to individual needs and deliver continuous improvement within the school. It is essential that you have the ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all our pupils.This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher to make this role their own and to facilitate high performance in the subject with pupils achieving a wide range of qualifications from Entry Level to Functional Skills and GCSE; whilst simultaneously embedding the Health and Wellbeing framework and four purposes (Curriculum for Wales) into your subject area to provide full support, knowledge and containment for our pupils.
