Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of ready to eat food products and supplies to both retailers and foodservice operations across the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a Production Manager based near Corby. The hours for this role are Panama Shifts working from 6am - 6pm, working 2 on 3 off This is a really exciting time to be joining this highly successful company! The successful Production Manager will report to the Factory Manager. You will ensure that your areas of responsibility are operating to the highest standards in line with business goals and objectives. You will be accountable for delivering daily production / hygiene in a safe, optimal quality and efficient manner through a highly motivated team. You will Take a 24/7 approach to their area of responsibility driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: To pro-actively lead a safe working environment for all employees on shift and that as a minimum the operation meets the standards set out in the Health & Safety policy. To lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping through Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.) to ensure that both Business and customer standards are exceeded and audit requirements are fully met. Leads the supervisor and team, utilise if required the performance management systems (i.e. appraisal) and, if necessary, to impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with Company policy through to dismissal stage. Ensure that each level below you have accountabilities. Take accountability for the training & development of your team. Actively coach, develop, recruit and train team members to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the area and business. Leads the team to manage the NPD process to ensure that all trials run successfully and through to product launch. Exceeding customer expectations and delivering within budget Challenges and introduces KPIs to drive performance. Ensures Team delivers agreed KPIs across the department and area ensuring systems are in place to collect the necessary data to measure performance against the agreed KPIs. Develops and implements Performance Improvement Plan (PIP'S) and identifies areas for improvement. Leads the team in Planning, organising and measuring labour and material requirements within their area to ensure that both short- and long- term agreed targets are met. Drives the communication strategy to ensure that the workforce is informed on relevant business news and to encourage effective cross-functional links and those channels of communication are clear and available. Leads the team to deliver fortnight team briefs and update the team and business with updates. Ideal Production Manager candidates will have previous similar experience within a high risk food manufacturing environment. This position would ideally suit someone with a track record of developing harmonious teams through strong people management. About you: You will have at least 3-5 years' experience working in a food manufacturing industry Previous experience managing a team Excellent leadership and communication skills. The ability to build a strong sense of team ownership and maintain a high level of morale within the work force. Energy, enthusiasm, positive, commitment and a can-do flexible attitude.
