About the Candidate My client is a multi-award-winning independent business strategy and integrated communications consultancy. They have provided strategic counsel on business strategies and created pioneering campaigns for governments, corporates of all sizes, non-profits, celebrities, cultural icons and influential leaders, across sectors and industries. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and be curious, having a finger on the pulse of global communications, international relations/business, social affairs, and international development projects. Their role would expand to research, PR, marketing/partnerships, events and social media duties. Core Responsibilities of the Communications Assistant: Public & Media Relations Monitoring media coverage, relevant media titles and relevant social media sites for any potential news comment opportunities to drive reactive and proactive PR machinery Cultivating various media contacts and training to effectively pitch stories to media Contributing to the completion of internal and external plans Documenting upcoming editorial opportunities across tier 1 media Cultivating various national and global media contacts as part of your training Identifying high-level speaker and award opportunities for clients and the company Contributing creative ideas to the team Developing the strategy, creative concepts, tactics and messaging for campaigns with specific calls to action such as advocacy to fundraising. Have your finger on the pulse of cutting edge and creative campaigns by continuously analysing media, industry and wider national and international current affairs and developments, with an understanding of how this helps to shape campaigns and strategies General Communications Duties Working on completing client related documents such as status reports, media briefing documents, coverage reporting to deadline Be an exceptional copywriter and create compelling content and assets (press releases, authored articles, social media content, videos, infographics etc) Support in preparing presentations Demonstrating research skills by continuously analysing media, industry and wider international current affairs and developments, with an understanding of how this helps to shape campaigns and strategies Participation in brainstorms to devise fresh and innovative ideas, whether to develop story angles and/or to increase followers and fans to build an engaged online community Social Media Activities Scheduling social media content Developing compelling content for social media Drafting captions for various social media platforms Monitoring social media and digital activity and data to review the effectiveness of campaigns, social listening, and brand amplification The candidate will be part of the entrepreneurial company s exciting international expansion plans. The candidate would take ownership of and initiative in everything they do, while understanding how to work across teams. They should have the ability to work in a team under pressure to tight deadlines and critical paths, including problem-solving.
