Job Overview

This position is the local owner of shop floor systems in Texas and Tennessee with a focus on using them to drive value. Along with Corporate and other plants peers, this role provides leadership, support, enhancements, and project delivery, with daily interaction throughout all levels of the organization. Responsibilities include software ownership, development, support, troubleshooting, PLC support, data integration, reporting and analytics. Primary areas of delivery focus upon quality, yield, and equipment efficiency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Initial responsibility is to lead implementation of shop floor systems in a greenfield manufacturing plant in Abilene, Texas
  • Provide support for shop floor systems and data integration to and from systems
  • Manage projects for improvements from minor enhancements through to site implementations
  • Gain understanding of manufacturing processes and apply this knowledge to existing and new systems solutions
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations on a daily basis to identify, troubleshoot, and solve issues
  • Troubleshoot reported problems affecting production in various technical platforms
  • Self-motivated, willing and able to quickly understand the environment, and work hands on to solve business issues
  • Configure and support shop floor networks (Layer 2) in conjunction with network engineers
  • Develop and support Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications
  • Be willing and able to provide 24/7 support
  • Travel up to 20% as projects require, predominantly between Texas and Tennessee
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Required Education and Experience
  • Must possess a High School Diploma and 10 years experience working with shop floor systems OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field and 5 years' experience
  • Advanced knowledge of WonderWare solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of FactoryTalk Transactional Manager
  • Advanced knowledge of remote desktop & ThinManager
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Technical experience implementing in and supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, curious, and inquisitive
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server management and development
  • Knowledge of PLC Ladder Logic (AllenBradley)
  • Practical knowledge of S88 and S95 ISA Standards
  • Practical knowledge of CPwE Design & Implementation
  • Familiarity with networking equipment and protocols (Cisco, Stratix)
  • Software development skills(C#, MS SQL)
  • Knowledge of VMWare solutions (vCenter)

Working Conditions
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35 F to 100 F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
• Work is performed in an office setting.
