Head of Sales & Marketing sought for a Midlands based systems integrator looking to build and grow internal and external relations to increase revenues and profits. The Head of Sales role is available due to business growth. As well as leading sales and client-relationship management, the Head of Sales will track new markets and trends, recommend new products and services, grow new strategic partnerships, and helps guide the long-term objectives to meet business requirements. You will work across multiple teams and be involved in leading strategic development across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing a sales team of 6 Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company s customer base and ensure its strong presence Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new services and competition status Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational Marketing and Customer Relationship activities Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate products and services, development ideas Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company s ambitious growth Presenting sales results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis Speaking at conferences and events about the company s products and services Implementing sales strategies across the company and monitoring effectiveness Keeping a close eye on the sales activities of competitors and utilising ideas where appropriate Overseeing performance management of under-performing sales staff Working closely with the BDM team in order to secure large accounts Implementing a variety of new business initiatives to drive sales Ensuring the organisation has an effective sales training programme Negotiating agreements for contracts with customers and ensuring commerciality Implementing an effective sales pipeline and lead tracking process Set sales goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed Assess current team processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members Foster a competitive yet collaborative team environment Assess individual performance through observation and measurement, and suggest corrective actions as needed As a key role within the business, we are looking for a Sales Manager who already has proven experience of successfully managing a sales team within a systems integrator. You will have an electrical automation background this could be machinery or process control. We are also interested in candidates with digitalisation automation experience. It is essential you have worked up form a technical engineer through to technical Business Development into a Sales Manager role to be considered for this position. Should you have an MBA, this would be highly advantageous. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads Previous experience working as the Head of Sales & Marketing ideally for a similar organisation Natural leader with an ability to inspire performance with sales teams Strong commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial approach to business development Formal sales training would be an advantage but not essential Proven track record of achieving sales growth and delivery of results to business plans A minimum of five years previous experience in a similar role Accomplished at working across OT and IT at the senior decision maker level impacting strategy and future technological development and evolution Proven track record in selling solutions to a variety of industrial applications The Sales Manager will be an excellent team player, with situational adaptability and a hands on attitude. The business is based in the West Midlands. This role can be home based, however as a senior position there is a requirement for you to be in the office 2 days per week. The business will cover overnight expenses as required should you live further away. We are more interested in ability than specific location. Salary is highly competitive with package to include uncapped bonus, car allowance, BUPA, pension scheme, life assurance, social & wellbeing activity programme and employee assistance programme.
