About the role The Heat Pump Ready (HPR) Programme forms part of BEIS's £1 billion Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP), which aims to accelerate the commercialisation of innovative clean energy technologies and processes (including Heat Pumps) through the 2020s and 2030s. The aim of this project is to develop a digital solution which reduces the time required for a consumer to install a heat pump by bringing parts of the journey online. Specifically, as part of this project the objective is to deliver an efficient, simple, customer-centric platform and processes to support customers through the whole heat pump installation journey. Key responsibilities / stages Pre-survey assessment using basic customer-provided data and housing stock data, determining heat pump eligibility or providing advice on other steps required (e.g. insulation) to become eligible. Remote survey and analysis, carrying out detailed design, quotation and installation plan, which will be confirmed by a short final in-person survey Post-installation monitoring module including and customer care package Required experience - Back-end focus Experience in designing software - Will need to lead on tool architecture development Strong track record of Backend development Interaction with the domain and subject matter Work with Smart Meter Heat Pump performance data through API DevOps knowledge (familiar with AWS or equivalent, Terraform) Data science / scientific computing knowledge Experience working with large datasets Willingness to take part in interactive workshops Strong teamwork ethics is key Attention to detail Required experience - F ull stack / Front-end focus Experience in Web application development Experience in UI/UX design Experience in designing software tools Willingness to take part in interactive workshops The successful candidate may have to undergo and pass BPSS vetting before starting in the role
