Randstad are looking for an experienced attendance officer to join a school in Bradford BD3 area.

The role:

To contribute to the development of a strong, effective school with an emphasis on promoting a culture ofeducational excellence, within a caring and secure environment enriched with the values of discipline, mutualcare and respect which extends beyond the academy into the wider community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Contribute to raising achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality.- Assist school in meeting its obligations and targets in relation to school attendance, includingpersistent absence and improving punctuality.- Promote positive attitudes by pupils and families towards education and to ensure that parents aremade fully aware of their statutory responsibilities.- Lead on the effective monitoring of attendance through inputting of daily absence data, preparation ofreports for staff and liaising with parents to query and authorise absences.- Use data to provide tailored support for identified groups of vulnerable pupils to show an improvementin these areas.- Attend and represent the school for meetings with external bodies, including the Council, in relation toattendance.

- Be responsible for the administration of extended leave of absence requests from parents.- Work with the Trust and Council in cases of prosecution of parents/carers who fail to ensure their childattends school regularly.- Share attendance information on a whole school basis.- Follow Trust and Council procedures in removing non-attending pupils from the school roll.- Liaise with parents, external agencies and key stakeholders to support the school in ensuring pupils aresafeguarded, Trust attendance targets are met and pupil wellbeing is protected.- Provide updates for the school display boards, website and Twitter in relation to attendance, asrequired.- Deliver workshops and school assemblies to promote attendance.

- Undertake training on, utilise and maintain SIMS Attendance modules effectively.- Conduct home visits to follow up on attendance issues with parents and pupils.
