My client based in Stockton on Tees is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger Clerk on a full time, permanent basis to start as soon as possible.

This role will suit a well organised individual who can provide further support to the department.

As the successful, Accounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger Clerk your duties will include:

  • Entering Purchase Invoices to Sage Line 50
  • Matching invoices/credit notes to in house Purchase Order system
  • Setting up new accounts and amending existing accounts on the Purchase ledger
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Distribution of Invoices to Contract Managers for Authorisation
  • Carrying out monthly supplier payment runs
  • Supplier liaison and handling queries
  • Distribute post
  • Covering general administrative and ad-hoc duties

What we are looking for:

  • Working towards or wishing to start an accountancy qualification
  • Experience in an Accounts position is preferred but not essential
  • Experience using various IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Sage is preferred but not essential
  • Strong numeracy and accuracy skills
  • A professional and positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to manage own workload

The office hours are 8am to 5.00 Monday to Thursday and Finish 4 on a Friday.
